Getting Started

What is Intellocate?

Intellocate is a real-time location tracking system that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Angle-of-Arrival technology to track assets, personnel, and equipment with sub-meter accuracy. Our system provides live dashboards, analytics, and automated alerts to optimize your operations.

How accurate is the tracking?

Intellocate achieves 30-60cm (1-2 feet) accuracy in typical indoor environments. This is significantly more accurate than traditional RFID or WiFi-based systems, which typically offer 3-5 meter accuracy.

How long does installation take?

A typical installation for a 10,000 sq ft facility takes 1-2 days. This includes hardware setup, calibration, and training. Larger facilities may take 3-5 days. We provide full installation support and training.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! We offer a 30-day free trial for qualified businesses. This includes hardware, installation support, and full access to our dashboard. No credit card required to start.

Technical Questions

What hardware is required?

You'll need: (1) BLE AoA Gateways (one per coverage area), (2) Anchor points (4+ per room/zone), and (3) Tracking tags attached to assets/personnel. All hardware is provided as part of our service, with flexible rental or purchase options.

Does it work outdoors?

Intellocate is optimized for indoor tracking. For outdoor areas, we recommend GPS-based solutions which we can integrate with. Covered outdoor areas (warehouses with open sides) work well with our system.

What's the battery life of tracking tags?

Standard tags last 12-18 months on a single coin cell battery (CR2032). Extended-life tags can last up to 3 years. The dashboard alerts you when batteries are low (typically 30 days before depletion).

Can I integrate with my existing systems?

Yes! We provide REST APIs for integration with ERP, WMS, MES, and other systems. We also support webhooks for real-time event notifications. Our team can help with custom integrations.

What internet connection is needed?

You need a stable WiFi network for gateways to connect to our cloud. Minimum 5 Mbps upload per gateway. If internet goes down, gateways buffer data locally and sync when connection is restored.

Pricing & Plans

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on the number of tracked assets and facility size. Small deployments (10-50 tags) start from £500/month. Enterprise deployments are custom-priced. Contact us for a detailed quote based on your requirements.

What's included in the subscription?

All plans include: cloud-based dashboard, mobile access, real-time alerts, API access, data export, 24/7 email support, software updates, and data storage. Hardware can be purchased or rented separately.

Is there a contract?

Monthly plans have no long-term contract—cancel anytime. Annual plans offer 20% savings and require a 12-month commitment. Enterprise plans are typically 1-3 year contracts with volume discounts.

Do I have to buy hardware?

No. We offer flexible options: (1) Hardware rental included in monthly subscription, (2) Hardware purchase with reduced monthly fees, or (3) Bring-your-own compatible hardware. Most customers prefer option 1 or 2.

Privacy & Compliance

Is it GDPR compliant?

Yes. We are fully compliant with GDPR and UK GDPR. Data is stored in EU data centers, you own your data, and we provide tools for consent management, data export, and deletion. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I track employees without telling them?

No. UK and EU employment law requires employee consent for workplace tracking. We provide consent management tools and recommend transparent communication. Our system is designed for safety and efficiency, not surveillance.

Where is data stored?

Data is stored in AWS data centers in the EU (Ireland and Frankfurt). We use enterprise-grade encryption (TLS 1.3 for transit, AES-256 for storage). Data is backed up daily and retained according to your service plan.

Who can access my data?

Only users in your organization with authorized credentials. We use role-based access control (admin/viewer roles). Intellocate staff can only access your data with explicit permission for support purposes or as required by law.

Support & Maintenance

What support do you provide?

All plans include 24/7 email support with 24-hour response time. Enterprise plans get phone support (9 AM - 6 PM GMT) and emergency support line. We also provide installation assistance, training, and documentation.

What if hardware breaks?

Hardware rental includes free replacement for defective units (ship within 24 hours). Purchased hardware has 2-year warranty. Tags damaged by misuse can be replaced at cost (£15-30 per tag depending on model).

How often is software updated?

Dashboard software updates automatically (no downtime). New features released monthly. Critical security patches deployed immediately. Gateway firmware updated remotely every quarter. All updates included in subscription at no extra cost.
